Recent Charity Events

On December 7, 2006, representatives from Building Homes for Heroes, along with wounded soldiers Jason Pepper and Mary Herrera, attended ICAP Charity Day 2006.  ICAP is the world’s largest voice and electronic interdealer broker with a daily average transaction volume in excess of $1 trillion, 50 percent of which is electronic.  The Group is active in the wholesale market for OTC derivatives, fixed income securities, money market products, foreign exchange, energy, credit and equity derivatives.

ICAP Charity Day began in 1993.  It’s a day on which all revenues and commissions are given away to a select few charities, meaning each would receive a large amount of money to make a considerable difference to the charity’s operations.  ICAP Charity Day gives the firm and its customers a unique way of contributing to society, especially in view of their privileged position in the financial world.  This method of giving is very different from the normal way that companies choose to give to charity by donating money out of their profits.  At ICAP, the brokers themselves are giving away their own commissions to charity, as well as the company giving away its revenues.

ICAP Charity Day 2006 raised $14 million to set an amazing new record, topping last year’s mark by nearly 60 percent!  In the 14 years that ICAP has been holding Charity Day, the organization has raised over $64 million.  The desire, energy and enthusiasm exhibited by the brokers, traders, clients and the entire staff at ICAP is astonishing!  A very special thank you goes out to Managing Director Lisa Nelson and Doug Rhoten, Chief Executive Officer of ICAP North America, for all of their kindness and generosity.  Among the dignitaries on hand to help the cause were; Jon Bon Jovi, Martina Navratilova, Joe Torre, Mary Louise Parker, Heather Graham and Michael J. Fox.
