Minnesota wine tasting raises more than $14,000

In recognition of the 10-year anniversary of 9/11, a wine-tasting event was held at the Holiday Inn in St. Cloud, Minnesota on September 11, 2011. The event, which was hosted by John and A.J. Kern, raised over $14,000 for Building Homes for Heroes, which will go toward assisting the severely-wounded men and women of the military. It was a warm gathering of more than 100 from the great state of Minnesota, who set out to honor the memory of the lives lost on 9/11, and all those who volunteer to serve our country. U.S. Senate candidate Dan "Doc" Severson, and State Representatives King Banaian and Steve Gottwalt, gave outstanding tributes. St. Cloud Mayor Dave Klies also attended and supported the event.

Special thanks to KNSI's Dan “Ox” Ochsner, 3WI's Lon Schmidt, Henry Gruber, Darrell Bruestle, and Chad Olson for helping to make the event a tremendous success.

Staff Sergeat William Castillo and State Representative.
