Building Homes for Heroes 1st Annual Bowling for Heroes fundraiser took place on Tuesday, August 23rd at Colonial Lanes in Orlando, Florida from 7pm to 10pm. This fun filled night raised over $9000 to benefit the severely wounded men and women of the military, more specifically the ongoing Robert Jackson “BJ” project. The event included two rounds of bowling, dinner, drinks and amazing gourmet cupcakes from Cupcake Jubilee. Raffle prizes to various restaurants, attractions and services within Orlando were handed out every thirty minutes until the bowling games were completed. Approximately 120 people attended the event including WKMG anchors Matt Austin, Bridgett Williams, Troy Bridges and Jessica Sanchez. A special thank you to WYGM, better known as 740 The Game for broadcasting LIVE from the bowling event to help promote further participation. Our most important VIPS were Specialist Robert Jackson of Orlando, Florida, Sergeant Joel Tavera of Tampa, Florida and Staff Sergeant William Castillo of Orlando, Florida all past recipients or future recipients of Building Homes for Heroes.
Also, a big thank you to the event's planning committee: John Madison, Debbie Pennington-Garcia, Tim Behm and Amanda Benson. Building Homes for Heroes would also like to thank Local 6 Morning News, Colonial Lanes, Cupcake Jubilee, SamJay Media, The Home Mag, Modern Plumbing, S&W Kitchens, ACE Electrical, John Madison Landscape, Inc., Kaltbaum Capital Management, PCL Construction Inc, Ask the Seal, Florida Hospital, Orlando Rentals, Venture Brick Pavers and our two top fundraisers – Natalie Mcdougal-Franceschi and Mayra Gonzalez. We couldn't have accomplished any of this without our wonderful volunteers, bowlers, and all the support from local businesses and restaurants. Thank You everyone who was involved, fundraised or donated.
